Blame It on the Hat

Behind the Song

Blame It on the Hat was inspired by a moment in Picnics in the Vineyard when Robyn sets out in search of one very specific thing—a red cowgirl hat.

What begins as a little shopping adventure becomes something more: a moment about confidence, second thoughts, and how easily someone else’s voice can make us question what brings us joy.

The song takes that spark from Robyn’s story and imagines a slightly different possibility.

What if she found the hat?
What if she put it on?
And what if a little red rhinestone sparkle changed everything?

Sometimes confidence doesn’t arrive with a grand revelation.

Sometimes…it comes in a box with a brim.

Blame it on the hat.
