Reading, Writing and Wrinkles
We’ve still got stories to tell, books to read, and another chapter to write.
It started with six women, a Thursday lunch, and a conversation about books.
Some were readers. Some were writers. All of them had accumulated enough life experience—and enough wrinkles—to know that the best stories rarely go according to plan.
What begins as a simple idea to start a book club soon becomes something much more.
Welcome to Reading, Writing & Wrinkles, home of the delightfully unofficial “We’re Not Dead…Yet.” Book Club, where retirement doesn’t mean fading quietly into the background. It means finally having time to read the books piled beside the bed, write the stories that have been waiting for years, laugh until someone nearly spits out her iced tea, and occasionally debate whether Between the Covers is an appropriate name for a respectable group of women.
(It isn’t. Probably.)
Meeting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the women share books, manuscripts, memories, dreams, and the unexpected realities of growing older. They discover that friendship can begin at any age, creativity doesn’t come with an expiration date, and sometimes the person sitting beside you has an extraordinary story you never knew was there.
Then an unexpected new member walks through the door—and reminds them that there may be a few chapters ahead none of them saw coming.
Warm, witty, and filled with heart, Reading, Writing & Wrinkles is a celebration of women who refuse to let age write the ending for them. It’s about friendship, reinvention, second—or third—acts, and having the courage to ask:
What if the best chapter hasn’t been written yet?
Around here, every chapter is worth celebrating.
So raise your coffee cup, your teacup—or whatever happens to be in your glass—and join them in their favorite toast:
“Here’s to another chapter!”
Because they’ve still got stories to tell.
They’ve still got books to read.
And they’re definitely not dead…yet.
